U4N Ashes of Creation: A Giant Threat Quest Guide

What “A Giant Threat” Is

“A Giant Threat” is a narrative quest in Ashes of Creation recommended around level 10. It sends you on a multi-step adventure involving exploration, environmental puzzles, underwater searching, and a tough final challenge to retrieve a titan artifact called the Eye of Esh.

Quest Overview

Objective: Recover the Eye of Esh — a titan artifact tied to a looming giant threat in the region.

Quest Starter: Speak with Scholar Spriggin near the Lake Eliz / Stone Altar area after completing required prerequisites like Road to Joeva and Slivers of the Past.

How the Quest Progresses

  1. Prerequisites Complete the indicated earlier quests — the quest won’t appear until you finish them.
  2. Recover Tools You’re sent to a crashed caravan to retrieve Archaeology Tools and other necessary items before interacting with ancient pillars.
  3. Activate Nine Ancient Pillars There are 9 pillars you must interact with. The 9th pillar is underwater, hidden off the main path, which is where many players get stuck.
  4. Additional Items & Puzzles Retrieve the Star of Undying for a NPC in a cliffside area. There may be jumps or interactions that are only active at night — this quest mixes exploration with timing and environmental conditions. Some players even buy cheap AoC gold to get better equipment in preparation for these challenges.
  5. Halls of Adjudication (Dungeon) After completing exploration objectives, you enter a dungeon called the Halls of Adjudication to find the Eye of Esh. This final phase is challenging and often easier with a group.

Rewards & Benefits

  • Character experience and quest progression XP

  • Loot and crafting materials from final encounters

Tips for Success

  • Don’t skip the underwater pillar — it’s essential and easy to miss
  • Prepare gear and consumables — dungeon fights and exploration can be tough
  • Consider party play, especially for the final dungeon
